QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Valid Pennsylvania Supervisory, or Principal’s Certificate. 2. Valid Pennsylvania Mathematics 7-12 Certificate. 3. Graduate degree in related field required, mathematics preferred. 4. Five or more years of satisfactory teaching experience in Pennsylvania.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent
SUMMARY: Supervises District-wide Mathematics, STEAM Initiatives, and Career Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates, supervises, and monitors the implementation of the district’s mathematics programs, K through 12.
- Orders and maintains mathematics and STEAM program materials and information pertinent to the school district’s programs.
- Acts as liaison between teachers, district coordinators, principals, departments and staff, and local and state communities.
- Monitors the implementation of district STEM programs and/or STEAM programs.
- Supervises district’s career awareness and exploration programs.
- Oversees district’s career inventory system.
- Coordinates the districtwide mathematics curriculum and assessments K through 12 including the reporting of data.
- Provides studies and reports as requested by the Assistant Superintendent and Administration.
- Prepares budgets and plans for district’s mathematics and testing programs, in coordination with the assistant superintendent.
- Conducts formal and informal observations, evaluations, and performs other supervisory responsibilities with K-12 district mathematics staff as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent.
- Chairs committees related to mathematics curriculum, and makes to Administration and Assistant Superintendent.
- Plans and organizes staff development and training for staff.
- Coordinates and supervises summer mathematics and STEAM programs.
- Serves as liaison to the CCIU for all mathematics, STEM and/or STEAM related programs and activities.
- Analyzes district data for continuous growth and improvement of district math instruction and programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, 260 day position (12-month). Work hours are typically 8 hours per day, unless otherwise directed by the Superintendent of Schools. This schedule may be adjusted at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools. This position may require long hours and frequent night time and/or weekend work.
POSITION EVALUATION: The manner in which the supervisor performs his/her duties will be evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, specifications, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from school board, managers, citizens, staff and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Familiarity with K-12 mathematics concepts including, but not limited to Calculus.
OTHER SKILLS: Familiarity with STEAM concepts such as engineering, computer aided design, ability to read blue prints and technical drawings. Ability to use technical equipment. Knowledge of Art concepts as well as musical notation.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardizations exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
